This Privacy Policy explains how SaleSignal ("SaleSignal," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our websites, mobile-optimized web app, emails, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: email address, display name, authentication identifiers (including OAuth identifiers from providers such as Google), and a hashed password if you create one.
• Preferences: brands and products you follow, sizes, price thresholds, alert frequency, categories of interest, and notification opt-ins.
• Usage data: pages viewed, deals interacted with, clicks on outbound (affiliate) links, device type, browser, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and timestamps.
• Email engagement: opens, clicks, bounces, complaints, and unsubscribes for emails we send.
• Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies, local/session storage, and similar identifiers used for authentication, preferences, and analytics.
• Communications: messages you send us (e.g., support inquiries) and our responses.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the higher age required by local law). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service.
• Personalize sale alerts, watchlist matches, and recommendations.
• Send transactional and product communications (account notices, alerts you opted into, password resets).
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

3. Legal Bases (EEA/UK Users)

Where required, we rely on: performance of a contract (to deliver the Service); legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service); your consent (for optional marketing communications and certain cookies); and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Information

• Service providers: hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, and authentication providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Affiliate networks and retailers: when you click an outbound "Shop" link, the destination retailer and any affiliate network in the link receive standard referral information (such as referrer headers and click identifiers). We do not transfer your account profile to retailers.
• Legal and safety: to comply with law, lawful requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SaleSignal, our users, or others.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality.
• With your direction: when you ask us to share information.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some analytics or advertising cookies may constitute "sharing" or "selling" under certain U.S. state laws; you can opt out where applicable (see Section 8).

5. Affiliate Links and Earnings Disclosure

SaleSignal participates in affiliate marketing programs. When you click an outbound link and complete a qualifying action, we may earn a commission. This does not change your price and does not influence our deal scoring. Prices, availability, and discounts are determined solely by the third-party retailer and may change without notice.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes (e.g., security, dispute resolution, tax, accounting). When no longer required, we delete or de-identify it. You may request deletion as described in Section 8.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and row-level database access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

• Email preferences: manage notification frequency in your account or click "unsubscribe" in any marketing email.
• Access, correction, deletion, portability: contact us at the email below. Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
• Cookies: most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; the Service may not function properly without them.
• Do Not Track: we do not currently respond to DNT signals.

9. International Transfers

We process information in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.

10. Third-Party Sites and Content

The Service contains links to third-party sites (e.g., retailer pages). We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, pricing, availability, or privacy practices. Review their policies before using their services.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes may be communicated via the Service or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
